Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose:
To manage sound interconnect agreements with service providers internationally for voice, data, SMM, and video and any other services which may in the future become available. Additionally to manage a sales monitoring and reconciliation function to ensure there are no potential losses incurred by Q-Tel.

Context:
Interconnect services can generate significant amount of revenue for the organisation and can significantly impact on cost of carrier services ultimately impacting profitability.

Overview

•On behalf of Q-Tel develop financially beneficial agreements for carrier services global in order for it to reach its potential profit targets, ensuring that the companies interests are safeguarded at all times.
•In conjunction with legal draft contracts which determine first Global then all the interdependent parts covering voice, data, SMM, video etc.
•Acts as a back office service provider to the Sales Account Managers by providing the contractual back up to agreements which they have already negotiated on behalf of Q-Tel globally to International standards.
•Ensure there is in place a sound process for capturing, analysing and monitoring sales data and providing reports to the sales teams and senior management as appropriate which will identify areas of deviation from contractual sales agreements. For example -- a contract may be written for delivery of 1,000 minutes in a given period -- this role holder will monitor that those 1,000 minutes are achieved or not.
•Prepare variety of analysis, studies, plans, presentations, reports for the Senior Management to use in the decision making process for anything related to interconnects.
•Liaise with the IT department in order to ensure billing information and traffic records are available in order to generate reports for sales teams and senior management.
•Drive the development of a process which will identify any potential revenue variances from expected and feed back that information to the account managers to address with their appropriate business partner.
•Manage the reconciliation function to ensure that there are no revenue leakages -- reconciling expected income based on contractual terms and actual revenue generated.
•Manage, motivate, coach and appraise all staff within the section and identify training/development needs as appropriate in order to ensure the highest level of performance at all times within the section.
•Manage operating budget of the section.

•Produces accurately and timely reports on sales activity to ensure the organisation has data available on which to base decisions.
•Provides analysis and narrative on contracts management identifying areas for consideration and raising those to the Senior Manager Commercial International.

•Seeks to understand the needs of the customers from an International Service provision perspective and to arrange and agree as many interconnect contracts as determined by the organisation in order to satisfy the customer expectations.

Costs & Profitability

•Drives through agreements which will generate revenue and profit for Q-Tel whilst at the same time protecting the interests of the organisation in the International environment.

Problem Solving

•Understands and resolves contractual issues in relation to interconnect and roaming agreements.
•Problems with broader impact or significant cost or profit implication would be undertaken in conjunction with the Senior Manager Commercial International Services.

Planning & Organising

•Manages own time effectively in order to ensure that contracts and agreements are developed on time to high quality.
•Ensures reconciliation processes for sales results are managed effectively providing timely data for the organisation as determined by the Senior Manager Commercial International Services.
•Develops and implements contract management and tracking processes and procedures in order to quickly identify any areas of breaches.

•Numbers of contracts developed and signed within a pre determined time scale.

Decision Making

•Day to day operational issues are resolved independently.
•More complex decisions are taken in conjunction with the relevant senior management.
•Contractual conditions and decisions related to contractual terms are taken for the most part independently or in conjunction with the legal department against pre-determined frameworks.

Business Impact

•Q-Tel's ability to track and monitor interconnect and roaming agreements to ensure partners comply with the terms agreed could have considerable impact on the business in relation to revenue generation.

Communicating, negotiating & influencing

•Negotiates with international roaming and interconnect partners.
•Communicates contractual terms to Account Managers to ensure what they offer customers is in Q-Tel's interests.
•Generates regular status reports as required by the senior management.

Requirements

Minimum Entry Qualifications

•Bachelor degree in Business Administration or similar.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

•10 years experience in a similar job in a deregulated environment.
•Must have sound contractual understanding of carrier service agreements.
•Must have strong knowledge of technology related contracts and SLA's.
•Strong commercial understanding in terms of structuring agreements.
