An exciting opportunity has risen to join one of the fastest growing retail groups with a franchise portfolio of over 30 brands. Our client currently operates over 150 stores across the Middle East with plans for extensive development over the next few years.

They are currently seeking a Logistics Manager to be based in Dubai. Leading and managing the department, he will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing logistics plans, policies and procedures that meet the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership for the logistics teams - setting goals and objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating employees
• Manage annual allocated budget and expenditure ensure effective cost management
• Provide professional support to internal customers
• Continually evaluate and cost/quality optimise the logistics network
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
• Liaise regularly with senior business management in order to understand ongoing business activities and developments and the implications this will have for co-ordinated logistics provision
• Support strategic decision-making by providing senior management with performance reports
• Resolve critical logistics problems in order to ensure contractual commitments are met and any operational impact is minimised
• Research and monitor activities and trends in logistics supply markets
• Negotiate with key suppliers and logistics service providers on contract issues in order to ensure best value purchasing terms are obtained

Requirements

• University Degree in Logistics
• Minimum 6 years relevant experience in the retail/ FMCG industry
• Strong understanding of the logistics & supply chain industry
• Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations, procurement & shipping methods and procedures
• Thorough knowledge of local import, export, customs clearance, transportation laws and regulations
• Good understanding of financial planning and budgeting processes
• Good people management skills
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic a PLUS
