Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To design, draft a road-map for Fiber Optics Planning Unit and document the same in final Business Plan & Master Plan for the Section with Head of GIS and Local Line Planning. To provide and design guidance in implementing Telcordia Network Engineer for a better GIS services for Fiber Network users in particular To help automate the entire fiber optics planning process through Telcordia Network Engineer. Give Orientation and technical presentation to all Network Engineer users . And helping hand in setup, install and maintain GIS systems (both hardware and software).Plan, design, Analyze and document procedures for all GIS System related to fiber optics network and trouble shooting all escalated GIS related technical problems for technical GIS section staff. Perform regression, Quality Assurance tests of GIS systems before deployment. Provide suggestions on specifications for, configures, and administers GIS workstations, servers, and related hardware and software.Database level manipulation and tuning as per the request by the GIS technical staff and Application developers

Requirements

5- 7 years experience in Telecommunication network out of which:
3-5 years experience in GIS system with hand on experience on ESRI product
2-3 years experience in Fiber optic network (indoor & access) including routing concept.
2-3 years working with Telcordia Network engineer including equipment modeling Strong knowledge on Oracle relational database Strong knowledge with object oriented programming (visual basic, C++, etc.) Understand the F.O. access & transmission terminology.
