The RoleThe RolePerforms the design of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Instrumentation installations for oil field and gas process plant installations. Directs onsite drafting and design activity. Function & Responsibility 1. Design new facilities and modifications to existing facilities from proposals of qualified project engineers using CAD Drafting Package. 2. Directs on site contract draftsmen in design, revision, "as built" programmes and ensures quality of work. 3. Prepares material take-off list from engineering drawings. 4. Liaises between field personnel and his supervisor and project engineers to ensure fulfillment of technical requirements. 5. Performs on site investigations to recommend optimum method of facilities installation. 6. Assumes responsibilities for design drafting activity in the absence of his supervisor as directed. 7. Assists in training of less qualified personnel as directed |
RequirementsRequirementsHigh School Education or equivalent; Min. 4 years Technical College Design/Drafting. Min 8 yrs general industrial experience in design and drafting. Min. 4 yrs supervising drafting personnel Independence of Operation Directs Contract Draftsmen and deals directly with field based personnel at all levels. Must be capable of high degree of independent operation and able to make decisions with minimal reference to his Supervisor |
