The Role
Functions as expert technical adviser and acts as internal consultant in reservoir engineering. Plans,
prepares and supervises major engineering studies which include: the efficient management of
reservoirs, appraising oil and gas reserves, future reservoir performance under various modifications
and recommends engineering development to ensure maximum efficiency in the recovery of

1. Is assigned functional responsibility for a field or area.
2. Conducts engineering studies either performed internally or by outside consultants. Such studies
are highly technical and require creative and innovative problem-solving abilities. These include
studies using mathematical models to simulate a particular reservoir's performance under different
sets of operating conditions.
3. Reviews consultants' studies, computer studies, engineering studies, work assignments and
prepares reports for management review with appropriate recommendations having regard to both
technical and economic viability.
4. Devises methods for tracking reservoir performance. Reviews reservoir performance regularly,
recommending corrective measures when necessary, maintaining complete data files.
5. Co-ordinates data preparation, data collection, special field logging and testing and special studies
with other engineering sections, operations and exploration personnel, other companies'
engineering staff, contractors, consultants and service companies' personnel.
Must exercise a high degree of analytical judgement in the preparation of studies. Decision-making is
limited, but recommendations carry significant influence with Management. Operates with minimum to some supervision. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and minimum of twelve years applicable experience.
Prefer computer orientated reservoir simulation experience; Master's degree is desirable. Must have
superior technical ability, creative capabilitv and job performance.

Zueitina Oil Company was established in 1986 as a Libyan incorporated company to carry out the whole oil operations which was started by Occidental International back in 1966, and had been nationalized in 1986.
The mandate of Zueitina Oil Company is to efficiently produce Crude Oil, Natural Gas and Condensates at a minimum cost, with an optimum recovery, and with a great emphasis being placed on environmental and reservoir protection.
The Company is currently handling up to 20% of the country's Oil and Condensate exports.
Zueitina Oil Company also enjoys the competitive advantages of having a fully developed infrastructure, from Drilling to Terminal Facilities, and employs a dedicated team of experienced and highly qualified engineers and technicians.
