SOA Architect

Job description / Role

Senior TIBCO Integration Specialist / SOA Architect required for a Multinational SW vendor based in Dubai, UAE. This is a hands-on lead architect position that will require both a desire to lead design, architecture, and consultative client interactions in a multi-technology environment.

In this position you will have the opportunity to assume team leadership responsibilities as well as have the responsibility to provide mentorship to more junior developers. We are looking for a polished professional who can lead medium to large teams and drive forward-thinking software designs. Finally, to be successful in this position you must have sharp written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Quickly analyze business and technical requirements as input for high quality solutions.
- Provide insightful input during the development of technical project requirements.
- Deliver creative options for complex technical challenges in a fast paced environment.
- Develop the most complex and risky components of the technical solution.
- Communicate implications of development and architectural decisions, issues, and plans to business and IT leadership in a concise and effective manner.
- Explain solution value and highlights succinctly to business and technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with customer and vendor technical teams.
- Identify, define, and formalize team-wide best practices and processes with the objective of improving the quality and efficiency of practice implementations and deliverables.
- Create development deliverables that are consistent with client principles, standards, methodologies, and the technology organizations best practices.
- Stay current with associated technology advances in the marketplace and introduce new tools and technologies to the practice.
- Mentor software engineers and assist in their delivery of high quality software.

Requirements

- BA/BS, preferably in Computer Science or other related subject area (technical, analysis, or mathematics).
- Minimum of 6 years of applicable system integration experience using Message-Oriented Middleware using TIBCO BusinessWorks.
- Demonstrates very good written and oral presentation skills and outstanding client-interaction skills.
- Thinks creatively and demonstrate the ability to work independently on a complex task with little direction, supervision, and management oversight. The incumbent should be highly motivated, a self-starter, and able to work alone or in groups.

Additional qualifications desired in a strong candidate:
- Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and large back-end enterprise systems developing against large enterprise databases.
- Experience using advanced features of Oracle Database.
- Experience integrating code and administering major application servers, such as Oracle/BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, or Oracle Application Server/OC4J.
- Experience designing Service Oriented Architecture systems, including use of NIEM web services.
- Experience using and creating mappings using Object-Relational-Mapping (ORM) tools, such as Hibernate or Oracle TopLink.
- Scripting/power user skills in a UNIX/Linux environment, providing automation to build and deployment activities.
