Our client, one of the fastest growing public safety and security solutions organisations globally, is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Manager of Sub-Contracts to their UAE team. As the portfolio of infrastructure / civil projects across the Middle East continues to expand, so too does our employer, a leading provider of public safety and security solutions. Looking to expand their ranks and with long term prospects providing stability and career development, our employer is seeking to welcome a professional and experienced Sub-Contracts Manager for their multi-billion dollar projects. As a key member of the Team, the Manager of Sub-Contracts (MSC) is responsible for contract management activities for its portfolio of design, construction and other infrastructure sub-contracts for the company activities in the UAE.

Reporting to the VP Head of Contracts, this role is responsible for the following:

Managing a team of sub-contract specialists.
Drafting, interpreting, negotiating and successfully closing complex contracts with external vendors in collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders.
Closely work with the corporate, procurement, engineering and project teams.
Draft, interpret, negotiate and close the terms and conditions of the contract with the chosen suppliers in close collaboration with the procurement department.
Manage supplier claims, change orders and warranties.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this pivotal role include:

Degree qualified, preferably in the fields of law or business, with Masters being advantageous.
Preferred legal training and experience.
Minimum of 5 years contract experience for a global company and in major complex projects.
Minimum of 10 years experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the construction sector, ideally in the Middle East or in cross-cultural environments, including experience in managing a contracts team.
Excellent contract drafting and contract interpretation skills. Able to interpret, modify and approve contractual language in the construction sector.
Experience working in a matrix organisation is preferred.
Experience with FIDIC and/or Primavera Contract Management would also be an advantage.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
