Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Specialist Quality Assurance performs quality assurance tasks within the ITPMO. He/She assists with audits and inspections to ensure a high standard of project management utilizing the Quality Management System (QMS). The incumbent also performs quantitative and qualitative reviews on project and program management artefacts and data.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Understands and uses the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure high-quality project management deliverables.
Performs quantitative and qualitative quality reviews of project and program risks, issues, change requests, dependencies and other project management artefacts, using processes defined in the QMS.
Prepares project and program Quality Assurance Plans following quality reviews and plans quality activities to be performed on the project (review, audit, operational support and meetings).
Reviews the processes for tasks relating to quality, makes recommendations on modifications to streamline operations and improve project performance.
Assists in the assessment of departmental project management maturity levels.
Contributes artefacts to the document repository for the ITPMO.
Assists the Manager Quality in the performance of audit tasks and with conducting Lessons Learned workshops for completed projects.
Works closely with the Specialist Risk Management and Reporting and provides necessary information for further analysis and appraisal management.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in quality management by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Works with procurement staff to maintain quality requirements from external suppliers.
Assists in the preparation of quality-related documents for use in project gateway reviews and maintains project quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Delivers training related to quality.
Supports a number of ad-hoc initiatives on a non-recurring basis.
Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or any other related field.
8+ years experience in an IT environment with at least 3+ years experience in:
* Project management or coordination.
* Process Capability Maturity Modeling methodologies.
Experience in utilizing project management methodologies, best practice quality and process improvement methodologies
Experience in PM tools, techniques, and managing medium to large scale IT projects.
Project Management (CAPM or any other).
Proven ability to accumulate data, interpret them and devise solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
