Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Provision of strategic commercial & contractual advice / guidance to the project delivery teams.
Negotiation with Client Reps, project designers / consultants, main contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Advise on contractual issues, implications and courses of action.
Contractual and commercial support to estimating / procurement departments.
Ensure that contract documents are properly executed and advise on commercial risks within the projects.
Maintain and evolve the necessary policies / procedures to effectively manage commercial and contractual risk.
Preparation of monthly contract review reports and monthly management accounts information.
Identify and communicate development and training needs of staff.
Identify variations and implement change control processes to ensure Client agreement.
Lead commercial roles across the company in conjunction with site based surveyors.
Actively participate in identifying and winning future work.
Provide assistance to regional management in delivering increased margins.
Conduct start-up and validation meetings with the project team.
Ensure all projects have clear and deliverable commercial strategies.
Preparation of progress valuations through to final account and achieving a successful commercial outcome.
Preparations of project cashflows and commercial forecasts.
Subcontractor Management including tendering, negotiation, and execution of subcontracts documents.
Preparation of contractual claims / EoT claims and negotiation to a successful outcome.
Control and Manage project surveying teams.
Ensuring procedures and methodology meet statutory requirements and company objectives.

Requirements

Be suitably qualified and have previous experience at senior level.
Be computer literate (particularly MS Word & Excel).
Good written / reporting and verbal communication skills.
Good knowledge of the varied forms of contract and possess the ability to resolve contractual problems / disputes.
Contribute to the team and be a team player and gain colleagues and customers respect for his / her views.
Seek out ways to add value to the companys operations and strive for achievement of company targets.
Demonstrate loyalty, honesty and commitment.
Carry out responsibilities in a Professional manner at all times and promote the company brand.
Encourage enthusiasm in others to innovate / generate new and improved working methods to the benefit of all.
