Sales Manager - Medical

Job Function
The Sales Manager is the key link between our clients and the wider Life Sciences division members and support teams. The role is varied and extensive and the Sales Manager must demonstrate strong consultative selling skills and high levels of customer service to ensure the image of the division is held in the highest regard by the industry stakeholders.

Job Purpose
- To drive through the sales process for selling exhibition and sponsorship participation to potential clients.
- To maintain existing and develop new customer relationships.
- To ensure and achieve maximum revenue against set budget.

Job Accountabilities
- Achievement of sales revenue/profit targets.
- As set by Director, Sales and Exhibition Director.
- Confirmed in the annual budget review in October each year.
- Number of effective calls made per day.
- Introduction of new sponsors to the event.
- Providing Conference Producers with topic suggestions for each conference under the event.
- Introducing sponsors and exhibitors to Telesales team for delegate sponsorship.
- Provide Marketing Department with monthly sales promotion copy.
- In addition - market awareness e.g. competitive events, industry trends, specific medical knowledge related to show profile.

Key Dimensions:
Main job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Drive through the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets.
- Exhibition revenue target.
- Sponsorship revenue target.
- Continue to build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event.
- Update and maintain accurate records of confirmed exhibitors/sponsors via the integrated sales system Ungerboeck
- Actively maintain realistic sales pipeline to ensure sufficient business to reach and exceed targets.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective exhibitor promotion campaign.
- Provide other LS departments with up to date exhibitor and sponsor information and details of their participation to use in marketing campaigns.
- Involve other LS departments in direct contact with confirmed exhibitors and sponsors to improve customer experience.
- Maintain and supervise individual relationships with pavilion agents as allocated.
- Achieve maximum re-booking for the next event whilst onsite at current years event.

Operations/Administration
- Maintain event floor plan via Ungerboeck.
- Liaise with appointed accounts contact on a regular basis to monitor invoicing and payment status.
- Assist in payment collection as deemed necessary.
- Liaise with appointed operations contact on a regular basis.
- Provide weekly reports of current sales and future pipeline against budget target.
- During an event provide on site management and support to customers/clients/other staff members etc.

General
- Continually monitor and research the market.
- Identify and attend competitive events where appropriate.
- Database clean and build working closely with event marketing team.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility.

Requirements

Person Specification
- Educated to secondary standard (UK GCSE or equivalent).

Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience in a sales role.
- A demonstrated successful sales record of high value sales activity.
- Full understanding of event sales cycles.
- Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Commercial awareness.
- Attention to detail.
- Speaks fluently and writes clearly in English to both individuals and groups.
- Numerate.

Desirable
- Spoken Arabic.
- Awareness of exhibition production.
- Experience of growing and developing new markets and products.
- Telesales or Exhibition sales background.
- Related industry knowledge.
