Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Analyse and understand the dynamics of the Oman and GCC construction markets
- Prepare well thought out strategies to identify new Clients and opportunities, to win profitable projects in the aforementioned markets
- Meet with the key decision makers and influencers in Client organisations to continue to nurture and grow both new and existing relationships, and manage them effectively
- Understand the main drivers of the client businesses, their strategies, Artelias competitors and the business environment
- Prepare strong capability statements, Client specific marketing plans, presentations and other marketing documents
- Identify organisations with whom it may be possible to form alliances/JVs with in order to realise competitive advantages
- Manage the Business Development team in order to prepare and issue strong technical and financial proposals on time to win profitable projects
- Streamline and optimise Artelias bidding strategy and process
- Manage Artelias marketing and public relations
- Raise and maintain the Artelias profile and position in the market by ensuring strong and timely delivery, publicity and other methods
- Effectively report on the progress of the Business Development across the different sectors
- Actively participate and contribute to the effective management and success of Artelias business
- Coordinate with Managers and staff across the business to ensure a coherent development of the business and opportunities
Contribute to developing, maintaining and implementing Artelias Management System standards and procedures for services to Artelias clients
- Ensure the timeliness, quality, consistency and value of deliverables produced for Artelias Clients
- Proactively develop and implement Quality Assurance and Risk Management, including identification of potential problems prior to them arising and providing cost effective solutions
- Assist other managers in the continuous development of their operations
- Coordinate the training and technical development of the team
- Develop and mentor other staff identified by the Line Manager
- Any other responsibilities assigned to you by the Line Manager

Key Performance Indicators:
- Number of new Clients identified
- Number of opportunities identified
- Number of proposals submitted
- Number of profitable projects won
- Producing proposals within budget
- Delivery to meet clients Terms of Reference (TOR)
- Development of networks and contribution to team goals, and building of Client database
- Reporting to meet project and internal requirements
- Brand awareness and Artelia cultural development
- Quality, professionalism and excellence

Requirements

- Engineering/appropriate degree from an accredited university
- A minimum of 15 years of experience leading Business Development teams in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment
- Preferable to have at least 5 years of experience in the GCC region
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong track record in identifying opportunities, preparing proposals and winning projects for major Clients
- Excellent Client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Able to train and mentor other professionals
