Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A large complex project set at $2,960 million, covering all construction and utilities.

This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of this landmark project.

- Planning Contractual Correspondence
- Contracts experience and understanding of critical path programmes essential
- Competent contractual letter writer (contract and programme)
- Report to Contracts Manager.
- Assist the Contracts Manager in ensuring that the requirements of the Contract are implemented and maintained throughout the Contract period.
- Research for and prepare correspondence and maintain records necessary to ensure the effective administration of Contractual matters specifically related to planning, programme and progress.
- Primarily assist in the administration of contractual correspondence from Employer and Engineer with necessary guidance and interface with sub-contractor correspondences.
- Be responsible for researching response to letters, coordinating with other departments including Contractors BIM, Procurement, Subcontract, Administration, Engineering, Construction, Planning and Commercial Departments.
- Attend meetings as required.

In addition, the Contract Administrator may be required to:
- Assist in the preparation of Contract change proposals and correspondence.
- Assist affected Departments in respect of contractual implications specifically related to planning, programme and progress.
- Attend Commercial / Contracts Meetings and record minutes of meeting as necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering, Quantity Surveying or business related field qualification with training in contract, construction and commercial law desirable;
- Knowledge of critical path programmes desirable as this position will cover correspondence related to planning, programme and progress.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in the contract administration on major construction contracts is required.

Specific skills required:
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills are essential;
- Ability to work effectively with all members of a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multinational environment within the Contractor team;
- Experience with and knowledge of building related main contracts and subcontracts in the UAE;
- Proven track record and experience in main contract administration, specifically related to planning, programme and progress;
- Able to interpret, support and uphold opinions in contractual matters with the Engineer;
- Major building project site based experience preferred;
- Ability to operate under a degree of autonomy.
