Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The IT Support will be responsible for general maintenance of defined computers, printers and telephone systems along with basic server knowledge and maintaining equipment and inventory and for the resolution of identified technical problems for when they raise up.

The following indicate some of the principal tasks and responsibilities:

Software:
- Test new softwares when required for staff and for the organization and build a test setup for users to access
- Make software available to appropriate where requested
- Ensure the anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all Hardware within the organization
- Set up and maintain user e-mail accounts
- Make sure all inventory for software along with license up to date
- Avoid any third party unlicensed software
- Provide troubleshooting resolution and updating/upgrading of software with in the firm
- Assist with and provide support/troubleshooting for server software

Hardware:
- Maintain all hardware inventory, work on retention and keep systems up to date
- Assist all the staff technically and provide them with solution and support all hardware requirement and always look for latest products available and advice accordingly
- Keep a log of all technical faults (Support log) and present when needed
- Liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance and extend the support if it cant be done internally
- Provide troubleshooting resolution and updating/upgrading of hardware to customers
- Assist with and provide support/troubleshooting for server hardware

Network Management:
- Check the network backup daily for maintenance data backup, plane retention period and safe tapes /disks off site.
- Set up, maintain and remove user network accounts where appropriate and maintain active directory
- Carry out routine network maintenance tasks

Office Administration:
- Maintain stock of license, software and applications
- Order office stationary for printers and MFP
- Responsible for the budget and connections with suppliers for best price and negotiation

Personal Qualities As Help Desk Technician will need to:
- Be able to work on his/her own initiative
- Demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
- Have high quality inter-personal skills
- Keep up with new developments in software and hardware
- Able to work under pressure

Requirements

- Preferably a degree in computer science or management information science
- Certificate in Microsoft Certified System Administrator or MCSA (a plus)
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience
- Knowledge of business functions
- Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical roles
- Windows 7, 8
- Office 2007, 2010, 2012
- Active directory
- Basic PC Setup
- UAE Driver's license is a must
