Job description / Role
Our client is a multinational organisation providing hospitality services to a wide range of organisations throughout the UAE.
We are currently recruiting a General Manager to be responsible for the strategy and operations of the commercial laundry services.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the operations of the laundry facility and services for linen, laundry, uniforms and dry-cleaning on a 24x7 basis
- Developing new business opportunities with clients from small to large requirements such as government, hospitality, commercial and workers villages and managing key accounts.
- Adherence to HSE&Q standards and international best practices
- Managing the operations cost effectively
- Overseeing the procurement and supply of industrial chemicals and products, assets and machinery for the facility
- Manpower resourcing and training & development
- Develop and implement more policies, procedures and systems to improve the operations
- Ensuring that all standards specified in the contracts are met
- Training and development of team members
- Preparing and managing budgets
- Inventory and asset management
- Management reporting
Requirements
* 8-10 years commercial laundry experience gained for lines, uniforms, laundry and dry cleaning
* Experience of working with clients in hotels, military, retail, hospitals and corporate businesses
* Experience of working in the Gulf region
* Financial management with the ability to prepare and management budgets and costs
* Ability to prepare tenders and quotes
Candidate Profile:
* Fluency in English is essential
* Aged between 35 -45 years
* UAE/GCC driving license
* Proficient in MS Office including Excel
* Effective leadership and management experience
Education:
* Bachelors Degree
