Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, rebuild, overhaul, and repair all heavy vehicle engines.
- Ensure that all heavy vehicle engine rebuild/overhaul is accomplished in accordance with the manufacturers technical manuals and the KPIs.
- Perform technical inspections using diagnostic test equipment, special tools, and precision measuring instruments to determine the extent of repairs, machining needs, and repair parts requirements.
- Perform repair parts research using the manufacturers repair parts catalogue, and ensure that only the repair parts required are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
- Complete maintenance-related documentation such as work orders, repair parts request forms, and technical data sheets. Record maintenance-related data such as work accomplished, hours associated with accomplishing work, repair parts requirements, and vehicle-specific information.
- Comply with all safety, housekeeping, and environmental directives.
- Dispose of all hazardous materials in accordance with applicable directives and host country environmental regulations.
- Ensure all issued tools, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are accounted for, maintained, and secured.
- Ensure all residual serviceable repair parts are returned to the Workshop Store.
- Ensure that final inspections are performed on all rebuilt/overhauled heavy vehicle engines to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor, Engine Section.

Requirements

* High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
* 1-3 years previous experience performing rebuild/overhaul of heavy vehicle engines is desired.
* Formal automotive training is preferred.
* Previous experience using diagnostic test equipment, special tools, and precision measuring instruments is desired.
* Able to read, write, and speak English.
* Have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE drivers license.
