We are looking for an Inspector, Food, Health & Safety.

Under the direction of the EHS Supervisor, the Inspector, Food, Health & Safety is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and enforcement of General Maintenance Corps Main Base Operations (AT-GMC MBO) Safety and Quality Department directives. Assist the EHS Supervisor and dining facility management with their health and safety programs through routine audits, unannounced inspections, and educational assistance.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Analyze quality assurance data and make recommendations for improvement.
- Train and assist contractor to carry out quality control functions.
- Ensure hygiene standards are complied with in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform on-the-job food health and safety training and specifications; talk with the chef to assist in menu planning.
- Monitor the food service staff (contractor) in the preparation, production, and serving of meals, and delivery of food to various dining halls.
- Monitor health, sanitary, and safety conditions in the food preparation and production areas; discuss with contractor and attend to complaints concerning food and service.
- Monitor the production and service of meals within the kitchen, and the provision of container and packed meals.
- Ensure that correct procedures are met with food requisition, storage, and correct use of food commodities.
- Monitor effective management of the contractors food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
- Monitor the economic use of resources including staff, food, fuel, and equipment during the production of meals.
- Monitor the planning, production, and correct billing of all functions.
- Carry out regular EHS inspections of life support facilities (e.g., barracks, NCO, recreation center, dining halls, laundry).
- Monitor the catering services of the contractor to its requirements and satisfaction within the budgetary limits.
- Monitor the provision of all crockery, cutlery, detergents, and kitchenware.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by EHS management.

Requirements

The minimum qualification required to fill this vacancy are:
* Previous audit training is preferred.
* Current first aid/CPR certification is advantageous.
* 3-5 years experience in food and health quality control is desirable, preferably with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
* Cumulative 5 years industry experience.
* Familiarity with UAE, OSHA, and IOSH safety and health regulations is preferred.
* Capable of monitoring and assessing safety and health trends.
* Ability to use Microsoft software applications, and independently draft e-mail correspondence.
* Good working knowledge of auditing procedures.
* Able to read, write, and speak English; good communication skills.
* Able to produce clear, concise written reports (finding recommendations) in English.
* Demonstrated ability to interface with multi-cultural personnel.
* Good organizational skills; able to remain calm and in control in difficult situations; able to work as part of a team.
* Willing and able to work for long hours; on shifts and on public holidays and/or weekends.
* Good work ethic; go to work on time every day.
