CNC Milling Technician

We are looking for a CNC Milling Technician to:
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Determines work procedures, machines, tools, equipment and attachments to be used on conventional or CNC machines.
- Determines proper type and size of raw stock needed and sequence of machine operation on each item; determines machine speeds, feeds, and coolants, lubricants or abrasives to be used for machining.
- Makes new job setups on a variety of both conventional and CNC equipment involving accurate alignment in order to maintain specified overall tolerances. - Uses a variety of measuring and marking tools, including rules, vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, surface gages, protractors and height gages.
- Processes programs on CNC mills and lathes including setting up tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches and performs simulation cut prior to actual machining.
- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Discusses with supervisor more effective and efficient ways to do the machining process within the assigned work operations. Makes suggestions and recommendations to the supervisor on process improvement, within the framework of accepted trades processes and procedures. Performs conventional and/or CNC machine work by planning work to verify setups prior to running first production piece for assigned operations.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing user preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
* 3-5 years of experience performing variety types of CNC lathes and milling machining and programming is preferred.
* Good knowledge of computer and ProEngineer software.
* Fluent in all aspects of English language; reading, writing and oral.
