Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- The R&D Manager is responsible of product and process development activities.
- Candidate will be a key member of the UAE management team.
- The responsibilities of the R&D department include the responsibility of the testing laboratory and the leadership of a team of engineers and technicians.
- Capable of managing all new development as a project (planning of resources, costs & timing)
- Plan/coordinate/document tests results, validate technical specifications and contribute to customers' new requirement in order to capture opportunities for product and/or process development.
- Interface with the Customer, Product Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality teams to achieve these goals.
- Leadership of the R&D team (including a testing laboratory)
- Conduct new product/process development as a project
- Manage resources and plan required activities within the organisation (testing, prototype, design, quality, process)
- Build strong technical relationships with key strategic customers
- Provide technical leadership for the Air Conditioning segment
- Partner with top management, business/functional leaders and external partners to establish strategic program directions, allocation of resources, costs and timeframes
- Validate technical specification for new equipment or product
- Manage department budget and creatively utilize whatever resources are needed for the completion of required projects

Requirements

- Highly motivated with an ability to work in a fast paced and challenging team environment
- Master degree, preferable in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience, including project management experience
- Prior experience with air conditioning products is highly desirable
- Strong ability to work methodically and under pressure in order to meet deadlines
- Team player; able to liaise with all the organisations disciplines
- Intercultural sensitivity; able to work in international teams
- Ability to travel to customers/plants mainly in the Gulf region.
