Employment: Full Time

We are currently searching for a Scheduling and Planning Engineer to join our site based project management team in supporting the delivery of the Atturaif Museology Contract works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Project:
The Atturaif Project Development is located on Wadi Hanifa banks to the north-west of Riyadh. It constitutes a sensitive complex of historic adobe buildings with significant potential to become a Centre for tourism and culture.

The historic site has been granted UNESCO World Heritage status.

The rehabilitation of the existing adobe buildings, introduction of new Museum / gallery buildings and upgrade of site infrastructure has been in progress for 3 years and will conclude at the end of 2014.

The next stage of the works will comprise the complete fit out of the 12 Museums / Galleries by a leading international museology contractor. This work has an expected duration of 18 months.

Responsibilities:
- The Scheduling & Planning Engineer will be responsible for reviewing the contractors work planning schedules and continually comparing progress to the contract schedule.
- The Scheduling & Planning Engineer would be expected to produce a monthly progress report and chair and minute progress meetings.
- A background and working knowledge of contract programming and in particular PRIMAVERA P6 planning software is mandatory.
- The position is a site based position and will report directly to the Project Manager.
- The Scheduling & Planning Engineer will have no line reports.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous independent review of the Contractors Works Schedule over the duration of the Contract
- Advise the Project Manager in regards to the status of sub contracts, labour and material resource availabilities, long-lead time items and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate . In particular identify threats to the timely completion of the project works and recommend corrective action.
- Review and analyze Contractors monthly progress reports and ensure that reports do not adjust the Contract Time of Completion, Milestone Dates, or make other schedule adjustments unless otherwise agreed.
- Prepare monthly reports outlining an independent assessment of project progress, the comparison with the Contractors planned progress, schedule issues that present real risks to completion of key milestones including project completion
- If necessary work with Contractor to assist in the development of a sensible and practical schedule.

Requirements


The Scheduler will have a minimum of 10 15 year experience in planning building and associated site construction works

BEng or CEng degree in Civil Engineering or construction management


Demonstrable planning and scheduling experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Confident, proactive character, with a track record of working in a client / contractor site environment

Ability to work and contribute within a multi-discipline team environment
