Site Civil Engineer Associate

Job description / Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to work on our King Abdullah Economic City Project in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah. The correct candidate must be able to demonstrate 15+ years of experience of working as a civil engineer, a minimum 10 years experience of working on major infrastructure project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Leads the technical staff to complete the various design works requested by the Owner.
- Supervises, evaluates and participates in professional and technical engineering work in the design, investigation, project management and construction of roads, storm drainage facilities, sanitary sewer facilities and networks; landscape irrigation systems, water production facilities and distribution networks, including buildings related to the utilities, and other projects; administers engineering consultant and construction contracts; ensures safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; maintains appropriate work records; serves as a technical resource for assigned work staff; performs other related duties as required.
- Prepares and approves designs for Public Services / Engineering projects in accordance with general engineering principals and Murray City standards; determines scope, designs, prepares drawings, specifications, bidding documents, contracts, and cost estimates for road projects; conducts and coordinates design and construction surveying, provides construction staking; serves as Project Engineer on Public Services / Engineering projects.
- Supervises all Engineering GIS staff.
- Coordinates all design engineering work (all disciplines)
- Collects all infrastructure design data and engineering applications using Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD); Pavement Management; and Geographic Information Systems (GIS); uses appropriate computer hardware; responsible for the data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports for EEC Corporate Infrastructure.

Reports to the Project Director.

Requirements

- A proven track record in civil design, and related infrastructure.
- Experience of working in a fast moving engineering consultancy environment (ideally including Middle East experience)
- A high level of technical capability and attention to detail
- A good academic background with a civil Engineering degree
- A minimum of 15+ years experience in the civil engineering field
- Achieved chartered status (or equivalent) within a relevant professional association
- A high level of numeracy and attention to details with the ability to self check and produce accurate work
- Good written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise report writing will be required)
- Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with Clients
- Willingness to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment
- Experience and confidence in using written and spoken English within a business environment
- Site Experience
- Ability to work with and lead a team of engineers
