Job description / Role
Commercial and Contracts Manager - Dubai
The Commercial & Contracts Manager supports the Commercial function within the company by fostering best-in-class management of all commercial contracts across the business through efficient contract creation, contract execution and contract analysis, for the purposes of maximising financial and operational performance and minimising risk.
Key Tasks and responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility on allocated contracts for the following contract management life cycles.
- Supports the Capture Managers, Bid Team and Procurement with updated templates and insightful commercial input.
- Ensures commercial and subcontracting policy is adhered to and due diligence on suppliers and subcontractors is completed.
- The work will combine supporting the bidding activities and supporting project managers on their in-flight projects.
Others:
- Analyse complex issues and input to the resolution of any arising contract related disputes.
- Assist in the implementation of contracting policy and supports the Commercial Director with contract governance across the business.
- Recommends pro-active continuous improvements, within the respective business verticals, as regards contract management and foster a best-in-class mindset and skillset across all personnel undertaking any contract related matters.
- Any other tasks / responsibilities as directed by the Commercial Director.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task to tight deadlines within a high tempo office environment, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to draft detailed and accurate reports for internal and external purposes.
- Ability to articulate facts in a timely and accurate manner, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrable balance of a calm demeanour whilst responding to rapidly developing situations and requirements.
- Dynamic organisational / follow-up skills and the ability to multi-task.
- A can do attitude and ability to develop key relationships with ease and confidence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to interact well with all internal and external stakeholders).
- Understanding of the cultural and diversity issues within a team and promotion of harmony.
- Assertive, yet tactful and diplomatic at all times.
Key Qualifications required:
- Degree educated
- At least five (5) years Commercial / Contracts Management experience, with a sound and proven track record
- Good knowledge of Contract Law
- Experience of defence/security, IT/Communications and Oil & Gas markets preferable
- Membership of a professional body preferable
- Previous international travel with experience of contracting in the Middle East
- Ability to satisfactorily complete a criminal record check at all times
