Operations Manager

Job description / Role

Our Client is an established business in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They are involved in the leasing of vehicles for all types of cargo locally and across the border. From cold stuffs and breakables, to cars and construction material - you name it, they move it. They have the full range of cargo vehicles from container trucks, car carriers, refrigeration trucks, flat beds, low beds and tippers.

The next few years shall be an exciting time for our Client as they invest in a new logistics depot, workshop and commercial buildings. With the investment, a number of key strategic appointments are to be made.

They are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager.

You must be working in the haulage, operations and logistics industries.

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing our Clients team of schedulers;
- Coordinating movement of drivers;
- Financial management of preparing quotations for repeat customers;
- Cost analysis of man hours, transportation costs, schedules etc.
- Interfacing with the company's PRO, the Sales and Workshop Departments to ensure the smooth, effective delivery of solutions to their customers in the most cost effective and profitable manner.

Requirements

- Degree qualified in a related subject;
- 5 years fleet / haulage / logistical / operational management responsibilities of the movement of goods by trucks over land;
- Team management experience essential; accountable for the management, motivation and performance of the Schedule Department and over 100 drivers;
- Managing official communications with external stakeholders from customers to supplier procurement departments negotiating best prices for products etc
