Job description / Role
To manage the overall product management function of the plastic pallets product line with focus on sustained and profitable growth of the product (focused on maximising business value).
The Product Manager is responsible for product planning, product strategy, product marketing and customer retention (i.e. MRD and PRD). This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with production, procurement, sales and marketing to deliver winning products.
This extends form increasing the profitability of existing products for prime target markets, to continuously developing new products and penetrate new market segment, which will be based on industry experience and ongoing contacts with customers and prospects.
As a key success factor, the product manager must possess in depth knowledge and understanding of clients supply chain operations and plastic pallets needs for each target vertical and implications on client business. On the other hand, the product manager will be spending time in the market to understand trends and customer challenges, and find innovative solutions for the market. He should gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth and profitability.
Requirements
- Experience and in depth knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical and/or FMCG logistics and operations is a plus
- Knowledge of marketing principles and practices
- Project management skills
- Must be able to travel 30% of the time (This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites)
- Working Knowledge of CRM and product mgmt. software.
