Employment: Full Time

The HR Business Partner is dedicated to providing complete HR support to their assigned client groups. The HR BP will play an instrumental role in shaping and achieving the assigned client groups strategy and objectives through the delivery of planned human resources services and programs.

This role will provide front line HR support through actively partnering with the client groups and proactively identifying and dealing with employee concerns.

The HR Business Partner will be primarily responsible for providing administration service excellence in supporting the areas of new employee onboarding, employment law, process/policy development & interpretation, organizational management and handling employee relations issues.

Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Be an active member of both the client and HR Team as a contributor to tactical business decisions.
- HR support for all HR issues/matters related to on boarding, promoting, transferring, etc. Demonstrates sufficient business knowledge to be effective in contributing to critical people decisions. Ensure accuracy of employee paperwork and records.
- Provides line management with advice and options for improving organizational effectiveness, productivity and working practices in line with the Business / People Strategy.
- Advise on such topics as compensation, performance management, employee engagement and retention, onboarding, employee discipline and terminations, wage and hour, paid time off, and all local, state, and federal laws.
- Delivery of disciplinary processes. Supporting the Senior HR Business Partner and Manager in conducting internal investigations needs as required. Advises line management on employment regulations and procedures to enable successful re-organizations, management change, improvement in working practices and productivity and without adverse impact on regulatory / legal compliance, company reputation or employee engagement.
- Conduct HR training for managers and employees on various topics.
- Assist clients in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Accountability for ensuring accuracy of business units people data in SAP.
- Ensures business compliance with HR policies and programs. Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of progress relative to client goals and objectives.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of HR services to clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensures awareness and enrolment of key reward and performance cycle programs and initiatives. Facilitates business unit Performance Management (SMART objectives, Performance Review) and Reward (pay / promotion review, bonus, stock and recognition) processes ensuring alignment with business / individual results.
- Primary point of contact for all team leaders employee relations matters. Ability to coach leaders on people issues, providing support and leadership on employee relations and development matters.
- Coordination of employment-related immigration challenges;
- Ensuring compliance with Precisions Drug & Alcohol policy by coordinating with the Back to Work Department for Formal Referrals and setting up testing as required;
- Identify ongoing needs or problems that require research, analysis and resolution, in order to meet the changing business requirements;
- Consultant to management & personnel for employment law, Human Rights law and provincial employment/labour standards issues;
- Participates in the completion of various HR projects;
- Conducting exit interviews on salaried and non-field hourly resignations; and,
- Building strong relationships with all levels of the organization.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a similar HR capacity is required.
- Good experience in employee relations.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- Membership, or working towards it, in appropriate Human Resources Institute/Organization (PHR, CHRP etc.).
