Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Control Room Operator who will work in ADNOC on Contract Hire Basis (12 months).

Responsibilities:
- The safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally sound operation of power plant equipment from the Control Room including, boiler, steam turbine, generator, plant auxiliary equipment and systems during normal and emergency operation controlling flow of electrical energy.
- Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations.
- Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
- Perform equipment isolation and tagging.
- Assist in troubleshooting operational problems.
- Apply knowledge of steam power plant operations and basic power plant principles to daily decision-making and work tasks.
- Discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals from operating system.
- Can work without supervision.
- Perform preventive and minor maintenance of various plant equipment. Meet physical requirements of the job such as perform tasks while standing, walking, climbing and squatting.

Requirements

- Prior experience in the power generation operations and/or maintenance or an equivalent is desired.
- Timely successful completion of Operator Training Program to include on-the-job training or equivalent experience.
- Timely successful completion of Control Room Training Program

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Post-secondary education in the power generation field is desirable.
