Salary up to AED 22,000 - 27,000 depending on experience

Description of the Company:
Our Sharjah based manufacturing client is urgently seeking an Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the operational functions within the business

Description of the Role:
- The OM supervises the whole team, starting from the estimation, purchaser, quantity surveyor, supervisors, production & labors.
- Ensure the project cycle initiated was progressed correctly and with high quality standard production goods.
- Control & adhere to procedures on waste management and inventory stock controls.
- Create SOP and follow disciplines in work production with proper documentation.
- Good OM can do good saving in job orders & this will help in optimizing production and satisfying clients with correct quotations.
- Willing to do all the work by himself at the beginning,
- Grow with the company and redefine strategy for the operations and hire the team.
- He controls the Quality Assurance/Quality Controls.
- He study and analyses the client's needs and propose to him the right solutions in the Aluminum & Glass industry.
- Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- To identify and develop the vendors for aluminum extrusions, EPDM gaskets and accessories for aluminum & glass industries. To co-ordinate with system suppliers
- Attending and coordinate the specified client /consultant meetings for design review and approval.
- Study and Cost Estimating of various project
- Attending the specified performance testing
- Capable to design the submittals and shop drawings for submission
- Capable to design the fabrication drawing details.
- Capable to give the technical details of the design.
- To guide material allocator / coordinator in preparation of bill of material.
- To ensure that all the materials have been considered in bill of material as per project requirement.
- Select the material to suit the market availability in coordination with project specification (for local/non-local system)
- Supervise and ensure the proper usage of project material and improve methods required for cost saving or cost reduction in accordance to the budget
- Circulate the cutting list and ensure labors are correctly following the guidelines on the project requirements.
- Explain the Shop Drawings (or installation drawings) to the team for executing the work.
- Follow the project management fundamentals to ensure productivity meets deadlines, minimum wastage, quality assurance and controls before goods dispatch.
- Plan for resources such machinery or material to meet the projects requirements. In such cases that the machinery at the company is not available, he must propose solutions for the management.
- To prepare and report to the line manager regarding weekly Load Chart / Achievement Chart.
- To ensure that proper value engineering has been done while preparing the fabrication drawings.
- To evaluate the performance of the design team.
- Calculate the production line and calculate the overtime accordingly.
- To ensure that all the works carried out in the department are within the time frame.
- Responsible for maintaining necessary specifications for standard and non-standard construction.
- Organize a periodic coordination meetings with relevant departmental to monitor actions taken and progress status
- Responsible for pre-ordering of materials (i.e. releasing the related information to purchase department), in time to meet the project program.
- To take necessary measures / corrective steps, if problems occurred in fabrication or on site.
- To motivate the department to achieve objectives of the company.
- To assist and to provide technical support to Marketing & Sales Department in the stage of preparation of quotations / tenders.
- Coordinate with the finance department to Prepares the Monthly Progress for Payment Claims, P & L, Income statements and all projects booked.
- To identify needs of new tools / machines, dies, etc., in proper time with coordination with the management, considering the company budget constraint
- Organize and supervise the day to day management on site works, ensuring the works were executed in accordance with contract documents and approved drawings & specifications
- Ensure that the Site Workers are effectively and working safely in respect for themselves and to the third parties
- Coordinate with the main contractor for tacking of site measurements and dimensions
- Coordinate in any case of deviation from the project shop drawings by doing some appropriate action (variation orders).
- Organize and Manage the Installation Teams / Sub-Contractors which includes the daily planning and monitoring of progress & quality of the works.
- Coordinate with the Projects Manager regarding the status for material deliveries from factory, in particular on deviations from plan, delays, shortages and damages
- Prepares a detailed Method Statement of Access and Installation of Works including the sequencing of activities and interfaces with Other Trades
- Prepares a production schedule and sequence co-related to the master program. Issue at the factory which identifies the requirements and priority for deliveries
- Ensure the awareness of safety, efficiency, material handling and quality are develop and maintain at all levels (i.e. site installation, supervisory staff and labor)

- Main Work Done: Curtain Wall, Structural Glazing Curtain Wall, Segmented Glass Wall with Fins , Skylight (Pyramidal, Segmented and Curved), Panoramic, Bullet Proof Glass, Windows with Special Shapes, Bullet Proof Windows and Doors, Shop Fronts with Frameless Glass, Frameless Glass Balustrades, Normal Aluminum Work (Window, Door, Rolling Shutters, Louvers, Handrails, Hatch, Automatic Door, electrical Roller Blind . . . )

Requirements

- Civil or Architect Engineering degree with experience in similar field.
- Reports and writing skills.
- Communication skills
- Leadership & managerial skills
- Able to work under stress.
- Well-Organized
- Project Management
- Computer literate
- Negotiation skills
- Able to work under stress
- Willing to do offsite visits to supervise the labor.
- +10 years of Aluminum job knowledge, experienced in the technicality of this field.
- Additional Duties
- Can refer leads of sales to the sales department,
- Staff training when required.
- Must have own car
- Must reside in the UAE
