Team and Programme Manager - Dairy - Denmark

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the dairy industry in the role of Team and Programme Manager for Shelf Life & Food Safety at Arlas world class R&D facility. You will be responsible setting long and short term direction for this high achieving team and will be part of the Strategic Management team at the Arla Strategic Innovation Centre (ASIC) in Denmark.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Team & Programme Manager is responsible Shelf Life Intelligence which is one of Arlas high profile, strategic programmes within the innovation centre. This will include a number of cross functional projects which will focus on both incremental and radical gains to Arla Foods position within the global market. The fundamental objective of this role is to research and develop new methods to enable products to travel extended distances utilising new technologies and natural methods to achieve this.

Key responsibilities include:
- To coach and motivate your team to deliver ambitious goals within Shelf Life and Food Safety
- To create a scientifically based innovation environment with Arla colleagues and external collaborators such as Universities, suppliers and experts within the processing and ingredients sectors
- Collaboration with external research partners
- Coordination of internal knowledge sharing across the Arla Foods research groups
- Participate in strategic Senior Management meetings on subjects such as CSR Policy development.

Requirements

- PhD within Food Microbiology, Food Science, Technology or comparable qualification
- Significant experience with food pathogens, spoilage microorganisms within food and/or dairy
- Experience of innovation with strong project management skills
- Leadership, integrity and strong communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Flexible on travel to Scandinavia, German, the UK and emerging markets.
