Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Primary function of the role is responsible for a determined effort to manage /co-ordinate the Road Logistics Business Unit, with a special focus on developing its strategic, financial and operational results. This includes maintaining and maximizing the company's sales contribution from a portfolio of existing accounts whilst seeking new business opportunities and promoting excellent customers' relations.

Freight Rate Management
- Implement the strategic plans with the various Field Sales staff to achieve both ongoing business retention and business growth in line with agreed targets.
- Review and analyse the Overland market place and competitors performance and identify potential business opportunities. To develop detailed business plans to justify entry into such markets and develop Divisional marketing plans in conjunction with the central Sales & Marketing team to achieve the targeted market penetration.
- Ensure the KN EG Overland Division meets all the legal requirements, statutory obligations and Health and Safety requirements and adheres to all internal Company policies.
- Liaison with carriers/sub-contractors regarding Overland rates to/from the respective country.
- Monitoring and enforcing Country regulatory compliance with regard to global trading conditions.
- Timely completion of any rates required for the completion of bids generated by third parties.
- Ensure that a profit is made on all business sold (% margin to be determined).
- Attend to all administrative work on new accounts road freight instructions, credit applications, account numbers, working instructions, Standard Operating Procedure, special requirements etc.
- Preparation of proposals and quotations.
- Handle general queries from clients, other KN offices, suppliers and departments.
- Complete estimates as and when required.
- Responsible for carriers/sub-contractors selection as per KN guidelines and Rate negotiations.
- Implementing and follow up the shipment orders. Follow up the routing of the shipments.
- Ensure that cargo is collected from client premises and loading the cargo.
- Determine consolidation mix to maximise profit per shipment.
- Follow up finish all the procedures of the shipments (Customs, Certificates, & Bills).
- Obtain the documents in order to process customs clearance.
- Hand relevant documents the customs clearance sub-contractors.
- Linking Customs, agents and transporters regarding the Doc.
- Finish the shipment documentation with all parties.
- Maintain the Road freight documented filing system.
- Accruals of all costs after invoicing.
- Check that correct rates have been applied.

Sales Support
- Ensuring that negotiated rates get to local sales colleagues in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Providing competitive pricing for realistic client specific opportunities.
- Producing a personal Target Sales Pipeline to maximize the segmentation criteria.
- Working with the sales team to facilitate the generation of new business from a) potential and b) existing company contacts.
- Implement and monitor ongoing account profitability reviews.
- Assisting local sales in key account implementation including preparation of clients' SOPs.
- Assisting the preparations for presentation to key customer opportunities.
- Participating occasionally in presentations to customers.
- Secure new Business for K+N.
- Re-establish business relationship with current clients.

Budgeting / Targets
- Take full responsibility for the department P/L and for the preparation, presentation and implementation of budget / Targets

Reporting
- To provide reports and analysis upon requests by Bah NE
- Manage and monitor monthly FSL closing
- Completion of Monthly reports and FSL as per KN requirements and timelines
- Control and supervise FO activities by consulting ACON/KN-Road system regularly

Market & Product Analysis
- Provide market and product related information as/when required
- Promote KN FO Products to customers
- Seek for projects opportunities

QSHE Responsibility
- Ensure that all QSHE directives (incl. code of Conduct, Ethical Behaviour, FCPA etc.) are implemented and applied

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree
- Comprehensive knowledge of export/import procedures
- Strong systems literacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- 5-7 Years in freight forwarding and at least 1-3 years in Road Logistics industry (preferable in Multinational environment)
