Employment: Full Time

Our client is a financial institution based in Abu Dhabi with a group of entities providing multiple services to clients. They currently are looking for an experienced professional to join them at a senior level as the Group Head of Strategy & Planning.

The Head of Strategy & Planning will play a key role in driving business priorities for the group. Reporting to the CEO, the role involves devising solutions to crucial business issues around growth opportunities, retention initiatives and customer proposition definition. The Head of Strategy & Planning will work closely with other members of the senior leadership team to ensure that short and long term priorities are pursued across the region.

Major Responsibilities:
- Development of overall strategic plan for the MENA region, with a focus on growth, including customer and market analysis and other fact based development to drive to recommendations to senior management.
- Support of Market Development and Sales teams in developing their strategies by providing a framework for identifying issues, questions and solutions.
- Coordinate with Central Strategic and Corporate Development function to support global strategic initiatives.
- Evaluation of specific new business growth opportunities or strategic issue assessments.
- Oversight of market intelligence activities to inform ongoing strategic planning, including market and competitor tracking on a continuous basis.
- Thought leadership on key strategic issues, answers discrete business problems with a focus on high-value issues and challenges thought process when appropriate.
- Drafts key materials and presentations for senior executive team.

Requirements

- MUST be currently resident in the UAE (applicants not in the UAE will not be contacted).
- Minimum of ten years relevant experience, either as a consultant, or business role at a bank/financial institution.
- Strong strategy development skills and knowledge either from a top consulting firm or fortune financial services firm.
- Strong finance skills.
- Strong technical orientation around business implications and how we can compete in our market-space.
- Exposure to senior management operating mechanisms and rhythms preferred.
- Strong intellect and analytical skills, including the ability to translate business strategies into viable operational plans.
- Ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations.
- Proven ability to manage complex, concurrent, time sensitive projects.
