MEP Design Manager - Main Contractor

Our client is a major Saudi Arabian Building Contractor who employs a significant number of western expats on their projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established for over 40 years they have constructed many high profile projects in the Kingdom in the commercial, residential, military and medical sectors.

They are the main contractor in a multibillion dollar university, medical and residential complex in Riyadh and require a Senior Structural Engineer to interface with the clients design team and to check and monitor the structural integrity of the design on behalf of the contractor.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide Project leadership during the design stage in a collaborative, partnership-based manner.
- Ensure management of the MEP design process in accordance with company policy, procedures and the Design Management Plan.
- Manage Consultants.
- Advise on company Design Management resource requirements and organisation and assist in their selection.
- Ensure that the cost and profit objectives are achieved with timely reporting and forecasting.
- Manage the MEP design including all inputs, coordination and deliverables to achieve the time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Set-up, monitor & manage the design program including integration with the Project construction and procurement main program.
- Set-up, monitor & manage the budgets and cost plan.
- Document and monitor all project risks and instigate management strategies to control or eliminate.
- Monitor & control all changes to the Contract design brief.
- Support the Contract Manager to ensure that the design intent and design performance criteria are maintained through the design development and construction process.

Requirements

- 15 years practical experience
- Experience in hospital or high/medium rise construction an advantage.
- Relevant Third level qualification.
- Main Contractor Experience would be beneficial
- Experience on Mega projects an advantage
- Middle Eastern experience
- Progressive career development with proven loyalty shown to previous employers.
