Job description / Role
Adept Personnel are currently engaged on an assignment to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager (French & English speaking) for a leading global main contractor to be based on a project in Algeria. The project is a new gas gathering project in a remote desert location. The civils of the project have just begin on site and the Contracts Manager will be based at the companies head office for at least the first 3 months before mobilisation to Algeria. The contracts and most written communication will be in French so this person must be fluent in French.
Responsibilities:
- Dealing with all contractual and quantity surveying issues of the project including but not limited to the following:
- Dealing with correspondence with client, consortium partner, subcontractor, supplier and other party concerned of the project
- Advising Project Director, Project Manager and Commercial Director on contractual issues
- Preparing contracts, negotiations, evaluation of claims
- Preparing variation claims and related notices
- Attending meetings with client, consortium partner, subcontractor, supplier and other party concerned of the project upon instruction and preparing minutes
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying from reputable university
- 15+ years of professional quantity surveying and contracts management experience with international construction and oil & gas experience.
- With direct involvement in contractual claims, disputes, claims and contractual correspondences, meeting minutes, etc.
- Hands-on experience in compiling and mounting construction claims and counterclaims, handling and resolving disputes, processing legal and contractual matters, involvement in arbitration and full knowledge of various forms of dispute resolution, etc
