Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Supervises, coordinates, and exercises functional authority over Senior Project Engineers/Project Engineers for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling and completion of pre and post award engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Promotes best practices/methodologies for engineering projects management. Anticipates, recognizes and identifies key project technical issues/problems, establishes objectives and priorities, determines solutions and directs their implementation. Strategize the utilization of internal and external technical resources to meet long and short term goals and objectives set forth for Section/Department and Division. Promotes application of technology to enhance function and adapt to future trends in Engineering Design and Project Engineering.
- Reports directly to Director of Engineering, and provides technical and projects management guidance to the Engineering Department as requires. Interfaces with major stakeholders within and across other divisions.

Responsibilities:
- Plan activities of Engineering Project Section to meet long and short term Goals and Objectives for EPS/Engineering Department.
- Strategize the utilization of internal and external design and technical resources.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and exercise of functional authority over Project Engineers for: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Cost, Budget and Schedule Control, for the pre and post award Engineering Projects.
- Develop, and or enhance procedures to promote best practices, improve work efficiency, and upgrade quality and consistency of work being performed. Assist in development of young Saudi Engineers in the field of Project Engineering and Management.
- Anticipate, recognize and identify key project technical issues/problems and establish objectives and priorities in solving them. Provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues, and direct implementation.
- Facilitate use of technology for new trends in Design, and Project Engineering. Transition towards utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and new CAD standards.
- Develop and implement methodologies to enhance performance of the AE Consultants. Improve communication and understanding. Promote teamwork approach and relations for the benefit of Royal Commission.
- Management reporting liaison with other stake holders.
- Plan, implement oversee Electronic Archiving of Project Data.
- Prepare Presentation to Higher Management for approval.
- Periodical Evaluation of A/E's Performance, Program Report and monitoring of Schedule.
- Act as Royal Commission authorized representative.
- Promote technical and management excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
- Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
- Performs other responsibilities assignments associated with this position as may be appropriate and as directed by the Director of Engineering Department.

Requirements

- A bachelor degree in Architecture or Engineering. A Master degree is preferred.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer is desirable.
- Minimum of 20 years' experience with at least 8 years multidisciplinary engineering supervisory/management experience.
- Fluent use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified, preferably.
- Extensive progressive professional experience in an engineering project management role, preferably within a reputed regional developer/consultancy/contractor.
