Job description / Role
My client are a government organization in Oman who are growing rapidly and building on their already solid history in the Sultanate.
They are looking for an Automation Engineer to work within their Operation & Maintenance Division concentrating on wastewater treatment and network projects.
Key responsibilities of the Automation Engineer will include:
- Coordinating and managing the maintenance of resources and activities on a day to day basis in line with the facilities 14 day activity plan
- Ensure all maintenance activities of the pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and electronic apparatus associated with Instrument activities
- Conducting the testing, calibration and installation of instruments such as control valves, transmitter, indicators, switches and controllers ensuring that all Control and Automation systems and instruments are maintained to the required standard
- Ensuring that automation system backups are carried out and properly stored
- Checking and verifying the tagging of instruments prior to repairs, testing and inspection
- Contributing to the annual budget preparation for the Instrument Maintenance section and monitoring the budgets on a periodic basis to control expenditure
Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, Arabic is preferred
- Experience in Process Control Automation with hands on experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS) and SCADA Systems
- Experience with Honeywell and Siemens control systems
- The ability to develop Control Logic and Process Graphics and be able to integrate third party systems with Honeywell Experion System
