Employment: Full Time

The Data Analyst for Geoservices, a Schlumberger company, monitors drilling parameters and is responsible for maintaining geological service sensors, gas equipment and data acquisition equipment to aid safe and efficient well operations, as well as the delivery of high quality drilling and gas data to the customer at the well site. The candidate ensures data integrity and reliability, that designs and processes are detailed daily, and produces end of well reports based on the data gathered during well operations. This is a key development position for the employee to be trained and developed towards a position of higher responsibility and accountability and is the second step in the mud logging segment career path. The candidate is expected to progress towards a management, operational or expertise position of higher responsibility in the geological services career path or a cross-segment career in drilling group. The position reports to the Field Service Supervisor and is under the supervision of the Unit Supervisor.

Successful Data Analysts have good knowledge of drilling equipment and techniques and can communicate effectively with managers, peers and customers. They have good technical and data monitoring and synthetic skills and have the ability to develop strong professional relationships with the customer to inspire trust and confidence. They are accurate and rigorous in data reporting and use logic to solve problems. They learn quickly and easily adapt to new systems and situations while managing and providing support, coaching and guidance to less experienced employees.

Responsibilities
- Is directly responsible for the effective management of the mud logging unit, including personnel, equipment, supplies and maintenance, and rig up/down.
- Is aware of, and respects all safety regulations and procedures, as specified by the customer, drilling operator or relevant safety authorities.
- Communicates information regarding primary well control and well integrity during well site operations to the customer.
- Maintains and analyzes the volume balance sheet during well site operations.
- Designs an accurate and comprehensive drilling log according to the customer's format.
- Is responsible for the daily reporting, ad-hoc customer requested reports and the end of well report.
- Interacts with personnel at the well site to ensure the prevention of events that may give rise to the wellbore insecurity.
- Provides technical advice and assistance in core recovery and core description.
- Keeps the confidentiality of the customers well data.
- Ensures the highest standard of professional conduct at the well site.
- Continously improves the service quality delivery and communicates all improvement opportunities to the Unit Supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in this field / domain. Data Analyst is the 2nd step in the Geoservices Mud Logging segment career path. All personnel must have a university degree (bachelor of Sciences as a minimum) in Geology, Geological Applied Sciences, Earth Sciences or Applied Sciences.
