Senior Resident Engineer (Infrastructure) - Qatar

Linum Consults client is a third party consultancy currently seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join their team on a large infrastructure construction project in Qatar.

Key duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Overall management of the site supervision team to ensure smooth progression of works and to keep the Project Management team updated with all activities
- Ensuring that the contractors works are monitored and controlled in accordance with the design specifications and contract documents
- Ensuring that all materials and workmanship are at high standards
- Liaising with the Client, Project Management and Contractor to resolve any project issues, in addition to any other concerned authorities
- Ensuring site safety is maintained
- Monitoring assigned staff and implementing on site procedures to assist them in performing their work efficiently
- Giving final approval to works and arranging the handover

Requirements

- At least a BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering, with a Professional or Chartered Engineer status from a recognised professional body
- Minimum of 20 years experience on large commercial projects involving infrastructural design, with knowledge of codes, design manuals and construction practices
- Strong background of working for consultancies, preferably in the Middle East
- Ability to interpret complex contract documents, including plans, specifications and shop drawings
- Advanced negotiation, presentation and communication skills
- Fluency in English is essential, with knowledge of the Arabic language an added advantage
