#1425 Section Head, Financial Planning & Analysis

Management, coordination and preparation of the forecasting, budgeting, business planning and analysis related to financial performance of the business and significant analysis & decision support. This person will interface with senior operational, financial & commercial management across a wide variety of subject matter.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain Budget process and guide lines in coordination with management, SBU and corporate financial control and corporate business planning.
- Develop and maintain budget/forecast/business plan financial module and data collection formats.
- Coordinate the business plan and budget preparation activities, provide awareness and relevant supporting details, facilitate budget comparisons with previous plans, forecasts, actual and interpret variations before presentation to management.
- Consolidate departmental budgets in to corporate budget & business plan and upload in Oracle Hyperion and communicate to SBU, Corporate Finance and Corporate business planning.
- Presentation of budget to SBU/MC and Board of Directors for approval.
- Monitor and analyse actual spending and explain variations from budget and business plan and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly and year to date product cost statements by plant/product and relevant analysis.
- Monthly update of forecasts and rolling budgets.
- Prepare numerous and complex analyses and projects, including, but not limited to, new product cost/profitability analysis and value chains, long term planning analyses, capital project economics and risk assessment/returns.
- Perform Budgetary Control and Cash Appropriation for capital expenditure, regular reporting of the capex budget status.
- Develop and coach employees in order to retain and expand talent through focused attention and effort.

Requirements

Accounting Graduate required with professional Accounting qualification e.g. ACMA plus knowledge of Financial Planning and Managerial accounting in a process flow Industry e.g. Mining, Chemicals, Petrochemicals etc.

At least 10 -15 years of Managerial and Financial Accounting and Financial Management experience, preferably in the mining Fertilizer industry, of which at least 5 years in a managerial role in Financial Planning & Control in a progressive organization.

Experience in region with Big 4 would be advantageous.
