Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The job holder will be accountable to plan, develop, manage, implement and support the IT infrastructure, IT operations, information security, IT Services and business continuity in order to ensure efficient, reliable and secure communication and information within the set IT departments policies and procedures and standard professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations assigned for the IT Operations Team to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
- Prepare reports of the IT Operations Team timely and accurately to meet GMCo and department requirements, policies and standards
- Coordinate with IT Project Manager to plan and coordinate with department heads their requirements to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction
- Plan and arrange with the IT Application Team leader the IT infrastructure capacity, availability of equipment and servers limits to ensure smooth operations management
- Build test and development environments for newly developed solutions to ensure that errors detected and addressed before moving to production environment.
- Implement the defined security program, to solve actual and potential security problems to ensure safeguarding information system assets
- Determine, investigate and address security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits to ensure protection of the information and compliance with the set policies and procedures
- Set, negotiate and sign Service Level Agreements with internal customers (i.e. department heads, project managers) to ensure alignment of the delivery of IT services with needs of the business, which emphasizes benefits to customers
- Deal with and manage incidents and restoration of normal operations as quickly as possible with as little disruption for clients as possible
- Investigate and address recurring IT problems to ensure smooth IT operations and avoidance of disruptions to business
- Develop, support and manage the IT services and help disk including desktop, laptops, printer to ensure providing comprehensive services which meet business requirement
- Develop, support and manage the IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and operating systems to ensure providing comprehensive services which meet business requirements
- Monitor the database administration, maintenance, performance and integrity to ensure data is clearly defined, consistent and accessible by users
- Communicate, interact with and obtain from IT Application Team regarding observations and problems of new solutions run in the test environment before running on the production environment to ensure proper functioning of the system
- Develop and implement the business continuity best practice and standards
- Perform business impact analysis and develop the needed contingency plans
- Do the planed tests of Disaster Recovery Center and resolve the potential failures
- Organize and supervise the activities and working with small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the IT Operations activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner
- Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to subordinates/team members and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

Requirements

- 4 - 6 years relevant experience in IT including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or any other related field with preferably a Cisco advanced certification

About the Company

The GCC Supreme Council in its twenty-ninth session (Muscat, December 2008) approved the Monetary Union Agreement and the Statute of the Monetary Council, which developed the legal and institutional framework for the Monetary Union, and identified the goals and tasks of the Monetary Council. The Member States of the Monetary Union Agreement (the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait) ratified the Agreement, and as a result the Monetary Agreement entered into force on 27 February 2010. According to Article 20 of the Statute of the Monetary Council, the statute becomes effective one month after the date of entring into force of the Monetary Union Agreement. Accordingly, the statute of the monetary council entered into force on 27/3/2010. The Board of Directors of the Gulf Monetary Council (GMCO) held its first meeting on 30 March 2010.

The Boards discussions have been mainly focused on the institutional requirements, including strategies and plans to complete the necessary operational requirements of the monetary union. In addition, a statistical Committee was formed to develop statistical systems necessary to achieve the objectives of the Monetary Union.
