Job description / Role
- Acting in an internal and external advisory capacity for all landscape design, contractual compliance and construction matters.
- Advising the client and the senior landscape design team in all matters relating to landscape architecture including aesthetic design concepts, the suitability of landscape (hard and soft) materials, installation methodology, horticultural operations and maintenance practice, budget costing and comparison and new technologies pertinent to landscaping .
- Advising on the development of the design process and on the preparation of the technical packages for external works from concept design through to design. development, final design to tender and contract documentation on assigned projects
- Planning, budgeting, coordinating and overseeing the execution of the Landscape O&M and Construction teams.
- Supporting, reviewing and approving all construction and shop drawing packages including construction details for all built forms within the external works packages to be prepared by the contractor prior to as-built contract documentation.
- Liaising with the client, other pertinent authorities and contractors representatives to get an in-depth understanding of their requirements, project status, local and international landscape standards, as well as technical developments.
- Coordinating with other relevant disciplines such as quantity surveyors, costing and planning engineers, civil engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers and architects.
- Communication and meeting with contractors, manufacturers and other professional representatives and organizations to keep abreast of project developments, standards, materials and modern technologies.
- Preparing reports, manuals and guideline documents pertaining to specific the clients landscape issues.
- Liaising and monitoring site progress and ensuring that quality of landscape materials, installed site works and operations are consistent with specifications and adopted standards.
Requirements
- Professional qualification, Bachelor's degree or above in horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape management or related subject.
- Minimum of 15 years post graduation experience.
- Minimum of 6 years current or recent experience in landscape design and/or landscape construction.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in managing processes, contractual matters, systems, procedure and policies.
- Knowledge of specifications, contracts, and performance standards within landscape operations.
- Highly skilled in technical, factual and interpretative reporting.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously without on-site supervision.
Desirable:
- Affiliation to a recognized landscape body
- Previous work on GCC landscaping projects
