Job description / Role
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership which role models and ethics and values of the business, demonstrates cultural sensitivity and maintains high personal visibility in the stores and business.
- Lead, coach and develop the Operations leadership team to meet present and future business requirements so that objectives are consistently delivered, performance is managed and continuous improvement driven through active Personal Development Plans.
- Drive the operation to deliver operational key performance indicators on sales, stock loss, payroll, retail expenses, store profitability, customer satisfaction, store standards and safety and hygiene
- Design an operating model to drive sales and profitability so that our stores are simpler and cheaper to operate and better than competition in their market
- Drive the operations to deliver a customer offer that is better than the competition and grows market share
- Lead the retail support office to deliver continues improvement ensuring all business initiatives affecting the shops are right first time for stores
- Champion the improvement in operation efficiency by reviewing performance and ensuring process consistently implemented.
- Use knowledge of local markets, competition and customers to influence strategic and tactical thinking to ensure business does what is right for our staff and our customers
- Develop key performance indicators that are understood, monitored and review with the team to drive improvement in operational performance
- Develop business cases to support capital expenditure decisions in Operations. Build operational budgets that control costs and income. Identify and execute actions that deliver a reduction in store operating costs
- Develop local talent so that spoilt for choice when filling operations vacancies
- Discharge responsibilities as a member of the Business Leadership Team taking collective responsibility for company performance, supporting colleagues and shaping decisions on general business issues
- Forecast and manage cost centre expenditure within budget
Requirements
- 10+ Years experience ideally in an Operational Director Position
- Action oriented and willing to experiment and learn rather than over analysis
- Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of developing people, spotting talent and managing senior team remotely
- A broad business leader able to develop balanced plans with the business can afford
- Capable of delivering real change through others
- Able to translate strategic thinking into simple and practical application solutions for stores
- Experience of effective team working in multi-disciplined teams
- Local knowledge and experience and/or cultural sensitivity

In 2014 the company name was changed from Azizia Panda United to the Panda Retail Company. And another big step in the expansion plan was achieved when Panda opened it hypermarket in Egypt in the year of 2015. These big steps have raised Panda share in the retail sector from 7% to more than 8%. Today Panda is the largest food retailer in the Middle East owns more than 400 branch of panda Super, Panda Hyper and Pandati in Saudi Arabia & Egypt making it the largest retail company that offering its services to more than 400 million visitors annually.
