From the initial enquiry through to project handover, WSP - Parsons Brinckerhoff has extensive knowledge and experience of all stages of railway development, combining our expertise and practical management skills to produce better design concepts, improved construction programmes and lower whole-life costs whilst also considering critical sustainability factors. We works across all phases of a rail project planning studies, concept through to detailed design, Project and Program Management, construction and supervision, testing and commissioning and advice on operations and maintenance of the final asset, drawing on its excellent local knowledge and global expertise.
To support our growth in the region we currently seek a passionate, agile and solution-driven professional for the role of Associate Director Rail. The successful candidate will work closely with the regional Head of Rail to enhance our position as a market leader in transportation infrastructure consultancy. We have a growing team of energetic and talented rail professionals and we are looking for a dynamic individual to help make WSP - Parsons Brinckerhoff the first choice for clients in the global rail sector.
Key roles of the Associate Director - Rail are to:
- Support Head of Rail in preparation of discipline P&L and operations reporting and forecasting
- Participate in general business development, lead strategic tenders, prepare bid documentation and marketing materials
- Act as Project Director or Project Manager having oversight of project progress, project management/design management and technical issues
- Provide technical support to project teams
- Assist in the development of strategic business plans and technical development plans for the rail sector
- Assist with recruitment and on-boarding of new rail staff and development of rail team technical capability
- Coordinate with internal disciplines, overseas offices and sub consultants, manage design outputs and document compilation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a BEng / BSc (Hon) / B. Arch or equivalent degree with minimum 10 years post graduate experience within the Rail and Transportation construction/consulting industry, with Middle Eastern experience preferable. They should be experienced in a rail-related discipline as well as have broad knowledge of rail-related design across various forms of rail-based transportation. They should be a Member of associated professional body and C.Eng or P.E. is preferred, although not essential.
The candidate should have experience and proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team and multi-disciplinary projects and comprehensive experience in MS Office Suite of Programmes and in associated discipline software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential and candidates must be fluent in English as a minimum and Arabic is preferred, though not essential.
