Head of Innovation

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading global contractor who has a reputation for delivering landmark building and infrastructure project is seeking a Head of Innovation to join them in Hong Kong.

This role is a strategic position responsible for driving innovation with a view to adopting the innovative solutions for our client. The Head of Innovation should have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others inside and outside the organization. The job incumbent is expected to lead the company-wide strategies in innovation and embed it as a core business process in bidding, design, planning and construction.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Formulate the innovation strategies for our client by consulting with Unit Heads and working closely with Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team
- Lead the successful implementation of new technologies and enable the business and operation teams to apply new technologies in line with the business needs
- Research and identify international best practices and technology so as to enable good business decisions in the area of innovation / new technologies
- Promote the innovation culture by championing regular innovation competition and forum and fostering sharing of innovative ideas across the company
- Collaborate with other institutes and supplier to explore new technologies and innovative methods for engineering and construction
- Be a core member of the bidding, design, planning and construction teams in the implementation of innovation
- Report regularly to the top management the progress of the innovation activities within the organization

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other relevant disciplines
- 10 years’ experience or above, with at least 3 years in a managerial position
- Experience in engineering and design execution is essential
- Knowledge of automation and robotics in the construction sector is resourceful
- Experience in Hong Kong / Asia preferable
- Result-orientated with strong initiative for successful implementation
- Commercial awareness is essential
- Chinese and English communicator
