Job description / Role
The corresponding team shall contribute in the areas of:
- Ownership of SON test case definition and results/performance evaluation of lab and field tests
- Develop all test plans for SON feature validation and acceptance; both for the lab and field
- Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering team to define and validate the implementation and performance of feature/product requirements defined by Systems Engineering
- Interface with Network Validation team for acceptance of SON in the network validation team’s pre-production network testing
- Be the prime point of contact for the Network Operations team to analyse and debug network performance related to SON features
- Provide feedback to System Engineering as well as Technology, Architecture & Strategy teams on the performance of deployed SON features; and propose technical and architectural enhancements
Requirements
The skill sets required to meet the responsibilities of the role shall include:
- Solid understanding of technology standards; especially 3GPP RAN, and related
- Knowledge of the product/module testing, primarily gained by working in R&D and both white-box and black-box testing of cellular communication networks
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to generate a detailed and complete set of test cases, procedures and pass criteria of SON feature requirements set by Systems Engineering team, and also the Network Validation and Network Operations team
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to debug and localize issues in feature behaviour and performance
- Ability to generate detailed test case reports from both lab and field to Systems Engineering team, and influence the Technology, Architecture & Strategy team to enhance the performance of existing SON features and also define new SON use cases and features
