Project Accountant

Job description / Role

This person will be responsible for managing the financial and commercial reporting process of projects in the location. It will involve being able to consult and guide project managers but also maintaining an independent and objective view on the project.

Requirements

Technical Attributes
- Formal accounting training (management or financial accounting) essential.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and the concepts of revenue recognition
- Highly developed analytical skills to be able to interpret data and convey a clear message.
- Very strong excel skills with a working knowledge of pivot tables/formulas and presenting financial information clearly and professionally.
- Having worked within a professional service based industry would be ideal (not essential)

Soft Skills
- Confident and self-assured to be able deal with senior project leaders. Must be able to demonstrate ability to present an objective opinion.
- Commercially aware. Must be able to understand underlying commercial arrangements of contracts.
- Able to build relationships well with project managers to become a trusted advisor.
- Professional working approach
- Excellent communication and literacy skills.
- Must have a good work ethic and keenness to improve.
- Comfortable working with IT.
