Job description / Role

Reports to Head Of Solution Quality & Support
Department/Area: IT Solution Quality & Support

Purpose:
To work with System Solution Development stakeholders to specify, design and select information systems that deliver great value to the organisation.

KPI'S:
- % of Solutions Designed complying with the overall Enterprise Architecture
- % of prgressive migration to the new architecture agreed
- Timely delivery of System design Documents
- % of Signed off SSDs to total projects delivered

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

FINANCIAL/MONETARY: (REVENUE/COST)
- N/A

CUSTOMER/CLIENT: (INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)
- Partner with the organisation to understand organisation and departmental strategy and agree information systems solutions to meet needs.
- Maintain an awareness of business solutions.
- Maintain close coordination with Enterprise Architect and ensure adherence to the overall Enterprise Architecture
- Investigate information systems that might benefit the bank.
- Work with the System Managers, PM and Business Analysts to develop high level project schedule resource plans for implementation projects.
- Lead the organisation in exploiting technology and use knowledge of IT solutions to drive organisational change and support business process design.

SUPPLIERS/ VENDORS: (REGULATORS/OTHERS)
- Manage vendors and vendor resources during the implementation and excution of Design of new solutions.

PEOPLE/EMPLOYEE: (UNIT & BANK WIDE)
- The architect is administratively responsible for the staff (under his supervision) development and training and monitoring of their performance and attendance.
- Identifying the critical skill-set required to support architecture work mainly in key performance areas and particularly during new system design /development.
- Provide professional training and growth opportunities for employees.
- Provide guidelines to subordinates and ensure critical desing problems are timely resolved & examine for remedial action.

INTERNAL PROCESSES/PRACTICES: (PRODUCTIVITY/QUALITY/COMPLIANCE/REPORTING)
- Develop and maintain a model of The bank's current and future Application Architecture.
- Lead in designing, specifying and selecting information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
- Design the banks current and future project architecture and design a structure that is stable, resilient and performant.
- Understand and support to software architecture design and support development team in developing solutions
- Estimate cost, and prepare business cases for IT solutions, considering infrastructure, licenses, development and support

PEOPLE: 1-2 FTE

Requirements

- BSC in Computer Science or Business Administration or Equivalent qualifications. Knowledge of banking systems will be added qualifications.
- 8-12 years in similar positions (Solution delivery related managerial position in System Design / System Solutions Architecting and implementing IT solutions in Financial sector specifically Architecting & Troubleshooting for systems.
