Lead Urban Planner

Job description / Role

- Directs and provides technical guidance to the assigned project and/or discipline engineers in the management of engineering projects.
- Reviews staffing plans on all assignments.
- Participates in project planning during all stages of the execution of the task(s).
- Reviews project schedules and approves staffing estimates for engineering personnel for new proposals and jobs as assigned.
- Keeps the client informed on the status of the projects/tasks involving assigned personnel with respect to schedule, budget, task execution, work quality and client satisfaction, and contributes leadership, experience and expertise in the solution of difficult problems.
- Monitors the use of available engineering computer programs, technical advances and engineering management control techniques on the projects assigned.
- Formulates and recommends the approval of engineering plans and programs for assigned projects.

Requirements

- Minimum twenty (20) years of experience in urban planning and design of urban and costal environments, cities and large towns with a diverse mix of commercial institutional educational, recreational, industrial and residential buildings.
- Graduate with Master of Science Degree in urban/town planning for an accredited institution and well-versed in suitable International Codes and Standards.
- Direct experience with urban planning elements including, urban design, transportation planning, utilities and infrastructure environmental planning, implementation strategy, and design guidelines.
- This experience must include direct interface with engineering and design and construction phases of implementation. The experience shall represent urban planning for significant areas which are built, preferably some of which is within the GCC states.

The candidate must be fluent in written spoken English.
