Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a thriving bank looking for an AGM who will lead and manage the Business Group in all financial matters including planning directing, and coordinating activities relating to accounting, financial reporting and control to ensure alignment with the organisation’s strategic plan and meet business and regulatory requirements.

GENERIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The strategy: Contribute to achieving the organisation’s vision through development of the organisation’s strategy and aligning divisional activities with strategy and business plans
- Corporate governance: Ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance & regulatory/legal frameworks
- Risk management: Identify, manage, mitigate and report on risk and potential risk in divisional activities
- People management/organizational development: Develop, motivate and coach people in line with succession & career planning requirements and optimize organizational structures

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- International Finance: Serves as a key player in all acquisition activities regarding all financial matters of the business group
- Strategic Planning: Guides the strategic financial positioning of the organisation by evaluating proposed initiatives and advising on the impact of short-and long-range plans and financial regulatory requirements, including working capital related matters.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be expanded, reorganized, downsized or eliminated.
- Tracking: Conducts effective front-end acquisition analysis and due diligence in conjunction with Business Units and track achievements of synergies and to ensure financial reporting requirements are met.
- Financial Control: Deliver financial control processes for the Group and ensure expenditure is accounted for and delivers value for money
- FATCA: Ensure in coordination with business unit including subsidiaries that as a group complies fully with FATCA guidelines.

Requirements

- MBA or Masters in Commerce and/or in Banking/Finance
- Specialization in Finance & Accounting or CPA/CMA certified
- Or equivalent experience
- Minimum 13 years of finance and accounting experience
- Experience across all work streams
- Track record at management level
- International banking sector experience
- Effective key player in all mergers
- Successful strategic planning
- Successful control of expenditure and high value for money
- Effective Leadership of the Finance Group
- Effective management of performance against baselines
- High quality business intelligence which meets user requirements

Knowledge:
- Financial accounting theory and practice
- IFRS and the CBK regulations
