Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World <br><br>Armament Heavy Artillery Inspector<br><br>The Heavy Artillery Inspector will inspect all maintenance and repair efforts of all heavy artillery for the Army Prepositioned Stocks - 5 (APS-5) Contract. As the Heavy Artillery Inspector, the duties under this job title are to perform field and sustainment inspections on howitzer systems; will be responsible for inspection, troubleshooting, and diagnosing faults in howitzer and small arms.<br><br>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:<br>- Oversees and/or conduct inspections on different classifications of Howitzer and Mortar and other small arms weapons. <br>- Oversees and or conducts initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders troubleshoots identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase. Conducts a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met. <br>- Prepares records of inspection/tests and make them available to the QA/QC Department. <br>- Verifies procedures being used are adequate for the effective control of quality, rejects defective workmanship and materials, verifies, and certifies the test results on supporting documents. <br>- Provides guidance and technical assistance to shop maintenance personnel on inspection principles of workmanship, procedures to be employed, and quality of work expected. <br>- Ensures compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain a quality management program. <br>- Maintain cross talk with QA and/or LAR representatives. <br>- Coordinates with Shop Supervisor when technical problems arise, and in-depth mechanical knowledge is required. <br>- Cross trains when required to ensure maximum flexibility and possession of technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs. Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. <br>- Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the Amentum Quality Management System. <br>- Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. <br>- Perform other duties as assigned.<br><br>Education:<br>- High School graduate or equivalent.<br><br>Experience:<br>- Must have 5 years of experience in field level maintenance, with at least 3 years of the experience on towed artillery.<br>- Additional 1 year of experience as a towed artillery inspector required, preferably on Howitzer.<br>- Military MOS and or education for towed artillery/Howitzer repair and small arms repair. <br>- Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistics Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).<br>- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport<br>- Must be a U.S. Citizen<br>Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:<br>- Cooperate with staff, public, vendors, salespersons, suppliers, contractors, etc. <br>- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. <br>- If required, must be able to pass General Trade Skill PQS within 30 days of hire. <br>- Must have knowledge of diagnostics tools and forms used at the unit level. <br>- Must be able to read equipment schematics. <br>- Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals with relation to equipment maintenance and repair.<br>- Must have experienced in using the Global Combat Support System (GCSS-Army). <br>- Must have experienced in the using the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Unique Logistics Support Applications (TULSA) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW). <br><br>Certification & License: Required upon hire: possession of a valid US Driver's license. DD214 for validation of required MOS/or appropriate certificates/diploma.<br><br>Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands: <br>- Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.<br>- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.<br>- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.<br>- Must be able up to 50 Lbs.<br><br>Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
