Employment: Full Time

Work in Kuwait is contingent upon the applicant's ability to obtain a work permit from the State of Kuwait, which is requested on the applicant's behalf by their employer. Effective January 1, 2021, the Kuwait Public Authority of Manpower issued new work permit regulations, informing contractors that it will not issue a work permit to any individual who is fifty-nine (59) years or older and holds a high school grade certificate or less. A bachelor's degree or higher is required for all candidates fifty-nine (59) years or older. See Administrative Decision No. (520) of 2020 AD - Amendment to the Administrative Decision No. (552) of 2018 on Issuing the Work Permit Regulations. Candidates with a current Visa 18 (residency visa) are excluded from the education requirement.

Purpose: The Assistant Maintenance Manager provides secondary level support and directly reports to the Maintenance Manager for APS-5 Kuwait.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the discipline:
- Assists in establishing hiring boards to interview candidates for open positions.
- Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in staff assessments / assignments.
- Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements.
- Issues disciplinary or corrective actions when required.
- Recommends termination or contract non-renewal when appropriate.
- Responsible for completing performance evaluations as required.
- Enforces strict adherence to technical data and management procedures.
- Adjusts resources to meet production and man hour utilization requirements.
- Assigns adequate supervisory coverage for each shift.
- Provides required information and reports in a timely, accurate manner.
- Resolves issues and recommends actions to improve delivery of services.
- Ensures accurate daily documentation of maintenance actions.
- Reviews and evaluates management and production effectiveness.
- Analyzes personnel and equipment performance history using QA reports.
- Initiates management actions to meet new workload requirements or correct reported/perceived deficiencies.
- Manages the maintenance planning cycle.
- Ensures correct charge codes are used by employees.
- Ensures only qualified personnel accomplish maintenance with the appropriate equipment and tools.
- Ensures scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions are entered and completed in the MIS.
- Advises the production supervisor of conditions that may disrupt the orderly and controlled execution of the maintenance plan.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Army Logistics STAMIS in use to include GCSS-Army.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact well with the customer and with employees at all levels.
- Appropriate verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans and working instructions.

Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:
- Minimum seven (7) years of maintenance level experience on military vehicles.
- Minimum three (3) years of maintenance supervisory experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of applicable governing regulations, policies and procedures.

Certification, License & Clearance:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Tier 1 NACI required for all U.S. Citizens.
- Valid driver's license required.
