Job description / Role

BIM AND GIS - (South Al Mutlaa) - Kuwait City, Kuwait

BIM & GIS is an important part of the Information Technology team for the South Al Mutlaa Programme. As such CH2M are looking to recruit an energetic, dynamic, forward thinking and experienced BIM/GIS Professional to lead the development of this technology.

The BIM/GIS Specialist is responsible for developing strategy, contractual terms for contractors, system development and implementation and operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working with the IT Manager, Programme team, Client, and Stakeholders to develop the programme BIM/GIS Strategy
- Assist with development of BIM/GIS contractual terms
- Development and implementation of BIM/GIS training programmes
- Development and Implementation of BIM/GIS Technologies within the PMC
- Collaborate with other technical leaders in developing a full suite of CAD-related tools and systems
- Supervision of BIM/GIS quality and presentation duties by the BIM/GIS Team
- Working with stakeholders to obtain data exchange policies
- Work in collaborative spirit with the PMC and Client

Key Duties:
- Defines and implements the strategic direction for GIS/BIM on the South Al Mutlaa Programme in terms of standards, processes, and technologies to support the demands of the Programme.
- Promotes the use of a single spatial model and design management processes across all key design teams
- Inputs and develops methods for policing the BIM/GIS standards and processes
- Establishes and implements an audit service to ensure BIM and/or GIS user teams are working within the agreed processes and procedures
- Assists in the coordination of information in preparation for handover to the relevant parties
- Contribute to the strategy for asset management to ensure best BIM/GIS working practices
- Ensures that data migrates into the released arena of the single spatial model for complete coordination of data
- Contributes into the central spatial data repository solution to ensure best usage and dissemination of spatial data
- Assists with the coordination and production of the BIM/GIS visualisation graphics strategy
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

- BS in computer science, MIS or related field required
- At least 10 years’ experience, 5 years in similar work
- 2 years’ experience on large civil/infrastructure projects preferred
- Middle East experience desirable
- Expert knowledge of ESRI geospatial systems and AutoCAD
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with an ability to work in a team environment that provides technical services to a large civil/infrastructure programme
- Good writing skills and ability to prepare reports and presentations
- English language proficiency required (verbal and written); Arabic language proficiency preferred but not required
