Chief Information Officer - CIO

Job description / Role

Chief Information Officer (CIO) role with a leading regional bank based in Kuwait. The purpose of the job is to assume complete ownership of the Group's IT strategy and ensure it is properly aligned with the overall objectives of the business.

As a member of the executive team, the CIO will participate and contribute to the planning, development, evaluation, management and assume complete budgetary control as well as co-coordinating all the information and technology systems for the business to ensure a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:

* Implement IT policies, processes and structures to align with strategic plan
* Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the IT leadership team and employees.
* Provide the level of transparency and assist users to prioritize user requirements and manage stakeholder relations
* Provide project management services and resources on major projects, in order to deliver against bank-wide strategic goals and objectives
* Build relationships and manage the performance of both suppliers and vendors
* Build and maintain simple & most efficient IT infrastructure, which better suits the bank's current and future business needs/growth
* Contribute to the bank's vision and strategy for sustainable growth
* Ensure robust corporate governance & regulatory/legal compliance

Requirements

Requirements:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce and/or in Banking/Finance or related field
* At least 10 years in a senior IT role with an international bank
* Core banking system implementation experience
* Exceptional communication & presentation skills
* Project management skills
* Risk management skills
